Bedford’s Other Road (SR 58) Is Closed Too

Lawrence County got the same Monday surprise Monroe did.

State Road 58 is closed near Bedford between Rocky Creek West and Shawswick Station Road, over Leatherwood Creek, for a bridge deck overlay. Same window: now through mid-November, weather permitting. Detour is State Road 446 to U.S. 50 to State Road 37.

If you run between Bedford, Heltonville, and the east side of the county, that overlay is not abstract. It is another season of extra miles.

The county’s Municipal Unit Strategic Taskforce also held its second public meeting last Friday at Municipal Hall on K Street. House Enrolled Act 1210 told counties to look at how towns and cities plan. That conversation will outlast the cones. The cones are just what you will hit first.
